A student’s high school record may be the most important factor in college admission decisions for prospective first-time freshmen, according to a survey from the National Association for College Admission Counseling. The study cites grades and the academic rigor of students’ course loads as weighing more heavily in decisions to admit than standardized test scores, high school class rank, or demonstrated interest in attending.
